I'm celebrating 2 media successes. I was recently quoted for a Times-Union article on Hurricane Preparation, and I recently appeared in the Hurricane Special for CBS 47 and FOX 30 News with meteorologist Mike Buresh. It first aired this past weekend, and is scheduled to air throughout June. Mike has recommended my book, UNCOVERED, in his blog the last 2 years. I'm also celebrating the sale of 40 copies of my book to a mortgage lender who will use them as promotional gifts to clients.

A success for me most recently was connecting with an individual who had expressed an interest in coaching but was hesitant for quite some time. More and more I recognize the value of face-to-face dialogue. Not only will she become a client, we crossed the threshold of trust. Trust is critical in any coaching relationship. In fact trust is the connecting force in any human relationship.

I'm celebrating because Channel 12 is going to do a news story on me, my love for photos and my business - Heritage Makers... I am so psyched!!! YEAH! Julia Crowly from First Coast News is doing a story on photo gifts and saw our Heritage Makers (digital scrapbooks / story books) booth at the Southern Women's Show. She took one of my cards during the show and contacted me today to ask me about my photo books and gifts and said that she wants to include me in her story. I was just in the right place at the right time. We're going to tape the piece next week. I'll keep you posted on when it will air.

Well, just one short year ago we opened our small salon at the Atlantic Beach and Tennis Club at 10 Ocean Trace Road here in St.Augustine. Because it is hidden and off the beaten track, we wondered if we were going to last even six months.
Since I am fairly tenacious and very determined, I set out to build our business by going around to the different resorts in our area and leaving a menu of our prices and a weekly specials flyer. Our budget was very limited and we worked with what we had but within a few months we had managed to save up enough money to buy a massage table, facial and waxing equipment and the supplies that go with an ongoing business. November 1st will our one year anniversary and we are still here and going strong.
We are known to our clients as the SHOP GIRLS, LINDA, MICHELE AND HOLLY. We have been written up in the RCI Magazine for our professional attitude and everyone who come to see us loves the happy atmosphere in our salon.
And just to show our clients how grateful we are for their patronage throughout the year, we will be offer all of our service at half price from November 5th thru the 10th. So, come see us and enjoy a massage, facial and hair style for half the price!
Happy Halloween from THE SHOP GIRLS.

From Friday through Sunday of last week, my daughter, my grandson and I took a mini vacation together. We went down to Orlando, and had a great experience. We had a fun time together, actually agreeing on all decisions, and treating each other like best friends. Three generations in total harmony in this day and age! We forget sometimes that relationship success is just as important as professional success and sometimes a lot harder.

I am celebrating two things: 1) The fact that I am valuing my time more by being picking whom I am meeting with and who I am working with. Second I am practice what I teach by working ON my business rather than working IN my business. Today I hired an assistant.

Wow. It is a beautiful day. I had the opportunity to meet some like minded people by just saying yes to a new friend's invitation. My 14 yr old son had his braces taken off today after we had lunch. He is sounding more mature about the area of romance. I have a few hours to finish some work I've been working around. My family will be home in a few more hours and we will have a meal together. These are just a few of the things I have to celebrate.

I am very grateful for your request to ask me what I am celebrating. I made some lifestyle adjustments yesterday and one of those included going back to Contours Express! I feel so good when I work out and it is so nice to be back on the right path. How I have missed it. Paula Fike.
