Make Success a top priority with your Local Applause Membership
Things you can do AT the Luncheon
• Attend lunches on a regular basis. You cannot come too often as there are so many people to get to know, celebrate, support and network with. Also know that we welcome you as much as you are able to attend.
• Bring a “HOW CAN I HELP YOU” smile and attitude to each luncheon. When a “WE” attitude is developed, the “I” will naturally be rewarded.
• Arrive at 11:30 or before to make full use of the networking time. Feel free to stay afterwards to get to know someone better.
• Give the “Member of the Week” some undivided attention. This should be a top priority each and every week. Support the highlighted members by acknowledging them and their showcases and sharing a positive word with them. Make sure you are aware of who their best target markets are so that you can make meaningful referrals. Do try to give the “Member of the Week” at least one referral. You are likely to know someone who will be in need of their product or service.
• Make a point to acknowledge everyone—an important part of building relationships and respect.
• Plan to sit with someone you don’t know well or have not yet met. Sitting at different tables each week gives you more insight and understanding of others.
• Remain standing and moving around the room until it is time to start the luncheon. You just never know who you might bump into.
• Put your business literature on the “Members Only Literature Table.” Check each week for new member information, as well as any new specials or announcements. Be environmentally friendly and economical by taking your extra literature back with you at the end of the luncheon.
• Collect several business cards from every Member so you will have extra ones available when making referrals.
Local Applause is a “We” vs. “Me” organization. Market through other Members so that you are not limiting yourself to one sale or one opportunity. Creating 20 or 30 solid relationships that are well thought out puts you in their circle of influence easily – as well as you will feel comfortable putting them in your circle of influence. This is a much better approach to increasing business rather than just going out and collecting a massive amount of business cards.
• Offer testimonials about someone’s product or service in the room, as well as be prepared to give thanks for referrals that have been sent your way.
• Local Applause is open to all and welcomes and encourages diversity. Since religion and politics are two of the most powerful dividers of people, we do not offer a platform for either. Instead, we encourage you to live your beliefs to the fullest so that you will attract people of like mind.
Things you can do DURING the week when you’re not at a Local Applause Luncheon:
• Stay in touch with Members during the week by sending a quick email or getting together for a Starbucks/cup of tea morning. Take a sincere interest in finding out more about as many members as possible – who they are and what they do.
• Cultivate relationships with those you already know and new people that you meet. Remember to INVITE new guests to Local Applause Luncheons. To gain prosperity and abundance there must be a constant flow of smiling new faces. Keeping this flow will be beneficial for all and will add to the spirit of celebration.
• Take time to celebrate yourself in a meaningful way every day.
• Post your dreams and goals in a convenient spot so that you can be reminded each and every day of where you are headed and why.
• Be clear about your visions. Take time to create a vision board, cut out pictures of the things you desire in your heart. Put them all around your work/play area so you are reminded every day of your passions. A tiny step in a specific direction every day will add up to dreams coming true.
• Visit other LA LOOPS when you can schedule the time.
• Send in your RSVP to the L.O.O.P facilitator in a timely fashion—don’t forget to add the names of your guests.
Things you can DO the day before the luncheon:
• Call one member and two guests and let them know you are looking forward to seeing them tomorrow…this is a great reminder and it makes people feel great that you thought of them.
As the “Member of the Week” at a Local Applause Luncheon:
• Arrive early so you are ready to meet and greet attendees as they walk through the door at 11:15 a.m.
• Bring a description of your perfect referral. Be as specific as you can. If your referral can come from different areas – state that. i.e. – Who do you know who owns a salon or…Who do you know who might be interested in feeling great? Don’t ask – who do you know who might want to have a party for me? Ask each person at the luncheon who they know that might fit your description. If you ASK for leads, you will most likely get one.
• Share 5 minutes of your “Story” and pack in as much information as you can! We want to get to know who you are and not just what you do. Your personal story helps us to know you at a deeper level and builds a stronger bond between us all. Those who are most memorable to us are the ones who come to mind when we have an opportunity to make referrals
From Sheryl Lynn, Founder of Local Applause
Please applaud and recognize and compliment others often and remember that when you are speaking to yourself, to others or about others, you are either uplifting or slicing and dicing. There is no in between. We look forward to seeing you at the Local Applause Luncheons often.
